Simon went out at 0200-0900 but did not find any spoon-billed sandpipers, I decided against going out in the harsh conditions at 0700, nothing to be gained, I spared a thought for Simon as I made a hot cup of tea. He returned with news of the leg flagged Mongolian plover pair, they have a full clutch of three eggs.
Later in the day Nige and I ventured out into a blasting gale and rain to get cold, we started a fire near the first river to keep warm and spend time watching out, small flocks of Dunlin passed by, the sea had its usual thousands of birds, eventually we gave up heading back to laptops, photoshop and incubators. Nige had been very carefully cleaning every last part on each one.
