33 days down, but still not done – 28 June 2011

28 June 2011
Liza visited and we had a very long talk over a plan for tomorrow and some other matters such as flights home and general logistics.  We have been here in Meinypylgyno for 33 days now but thoughts of our tactical withdrawal from our current base with what we hope are healthy fertile eggs and possibly chicks are beginning to surface. We must make contact with the Heritage Expedition’s Spirit of Enderby as it has set sail and makes it way up the coast toward Meinipylgyno. We do not know exactly when it will arrive as weather may force them to head to sheltered waters. The day ended with a red sunset and a plan in place.

Night time, as dark as it gets in Chukotsk
