We’ve received some good news from HQ this week, the Australasian Wader Study Group of Birds Australia have generously donated approximately $6000 (Aus) towards the spoon-billed sandpiper appeal. It’s great to know that the work we are doing in the field is being recognised by people around the world, that our progress is being closely followed through this blog, and that people feel compelled enough by our efforts to donate towards the appeal.
The money raised throughout the appeal is supporting the team in our continued search for eggs in Russia, and the rearing of chicks when they are back in the UK – giving this incredible bird a last chance for survival. WWT and partners are busy trying to raise £350,000 for this project.
The whole team can’t thank everybody who has donated enough. Without these donations, the good work that we are doing on behalf of WWT and our partners just would not be possible.
If you would like to make a donation to the spoon-billed sandpiper appeal you can do so by visiting the spoon-billed sandpiper appeal page.
Share the link on facebook or twitter, tell the story to your mates at the pub this weekend and have one for us (and the spoon-billed sandpiper)!
