The weather turns, and we catch up with ourselves

Roland writes:

Finally after the coldest night of all with temperatures hovering around zero, by the morning the wind had finally lifted and we were going to have a lovely day.

First things first, before the storm, we had been planning to do our weekly turf and sand change. Everything had, however, to be put on hold once the storm had started and we had only been able to feed and water the birds, the only other activity was to stop everything from blowing away.

So we set to work with me (Roland ), cutting the turf and Liz replacing in the cages. By lunch time the following day, we had everything back the way it was before the storm.
