Many of you will have been anxious to hear some news today so our apologies for not posting sooner but things have been rather hectic!
This is just a brief update to say that Nige and 20 Spoon-billed Sandpiper eggs arrived at Heathrow in the early hours of this morning. By mid-morning they were safely back in Gloucestershire and in great condition.
We’ll be back in the morning with a full update on the day’s events.
Wow. How exciting. Such good news and such an accomplishment. I can only begin to grasp how difficult it is to achieve this and all the hard work involved by so many people. Just realise that what you all do is very much appreciated. If the unthinkable were to happen and this species were to become extinct, be sure to remember that through great personal endeavour and the foresight of individuals and the project partners, you did everything you could . Hopefully it won’t come to that and, indeed, you could well be responsible for the exact opposite; the saving of a whole species from extinction. The very best of luck with the next stages, both here and back on the Russian tundra. And, Nige; I hope you sleep content tonight.
What wonderful news! Made my day!
Well done you guys. Perseverence pays off! Now you can relax a little…….
Great news! I will eager await developments. Please keep up the good work.
I just found out as I was booking my place on the “dragonfly walk” and it’s made my day! I really hope the project goes well.
